About Session

It was so great to be back in person at The Lenox Hill Neighborhood House after serving this community through virtual sessions throughout the pandemic. Our audience were eagerly awaiting our arrival and were not shy about directing us where to set up.

Maggie opened with “The Sound of Music,” and a woman in the audience closed her eyes and sang along to this beloved classic. Jackie brought some contemporary musical theatre with a song from “Ordinary Days” that made the seniors laugh.

Emily sang a beautiful “Someone to Watch Over Me,” and one senior yelled out “lovely” when she finished. Luke found an old board in the basement so he could tap on it. Our accompanist, Noriko, and Luke did a completely improvised song together, and our seniors were so impressed. At the end of the session, Luke and Emily performed a duet of “Suddenly, Seymour” that brought the house down. We are looking forward to our next session!
