There's no such thing as Sunday Scaries when you spend a Sunday with the DSL Kindness Warriors! This weekend's session was a joy explosion. Singers Hanley, Kendyl, Erick, and I leaned hard into a Disney/Alan Menkin theme with tunes like "Out There," "Beyond My Wildest Dreams," "I Won’t Say I’m in Love,” and “Let’s Go Fly a Kite” (with all our at-home pretend kites).
Kendal gave us some songs from “Waitress” and "Addams Family," much to the joy of community member Kelsey (whose Zoom name was Wednesday Addams). Eric had us jamming and grooving to “Pour Some Oil on Me” from "The Wiz."
The highlight is always witnessing the creativity team DSL adds to the singers’ performances. We saw several people doing choreography to every song with fans. We saw props. We saw flashlights. We saw microphones. Every person added something so special. And then of course the grand finale was watching this group’s choreographed dance!
This was Kendyl and Erick's first session with DSL, and I know they’re both pumped to come back for more. I’m always so grateful for these sessions. We help each other kick the week off right.
