About Session

From Session Leader Maggie Elizabeth May:

We always love our SFYS sessions with Down Syndrome of Louisville!

Michel opened with “Over the Rainbow.” What made this performance extra special was the members of DSL started to sign the entire song in American Sign Language in beautiful synchronicity.

Even though our members at DSL love pop and Disney songs the most, they were over the moon to hear Becca’s “I Could Have Danced All Night” and acted it out with her in their bedrooms! Their musical theatre knowledge is quite extensive.

The ASL continued with Hanley’s “Riverbend” as the members of DSL taught her the sign for “river” that she was able to use in her song.

Our sessions at DSL always end with their members performing for us. This week they danced to John Baptist’s “Freedom,” and some of them held up homemade signs and pictures that that made specially for their SFYS family!
