About Session

All the singing was so uplifting for the spirit – it keeps me alive and I feel kinda young again!"

Central Harlem came ready to party, praise and share fellowship during yesterday's virtual Sing For Your Seniors session celebrating Black History Month. Session leader Napoleon Douglas gave a warm welcome with his rendition of "Let's Stay Together," and had us all feeling lifted and encouraged with his gospel power song, "Encourage Yourself." Cynthia gave us the feels with her silky tones and gospel vocals and showed us "What A Difference A Day Makes.” Davon gave a unique and soulful twist to the “Dear Evan Hansen” favorite, "Waving Through A Window," and Aléna used those Broadway vocals to channel Diana Ross and show us who was "The Boss."

Attendance was strong thanks to a recent donation of additional tablets to the Central Harlem Community that gave many isolated seniors access to the internet and the tools to participate in virtual gatherings. After the performances, Ms. Vivian led a wonderful talkback where we had a chance to visit with our wonderful Central Harlem community. "It's always a pleasure to hear your voices; the time flies too quickly!"
