About Session

From SFYS Facilitator Maggie Elizabeth May:

It was wonderful to see our friends from 305 West End, Zooming in from two different floors. Tiffany took us from the 1920's to 1970's with songs like "Funny Face" and “Love Will Keep Us Together.” The latter song had hands up in the air as our listeners swayed to the beat.

Liz came in with a beautiful tribute to her piano-man father on the song "Because of You.” Fun fact: this song, popularized by Tony Bennett was written by Dudley Wilkinson and Arthur Hammerstein, uncle to Oscar Hammerstein II.

Speaking of Oscar the 2nd, Megan (accompanied by her fiancé David) graced us with her beautiful soprano voice on “If I Loved You,” from CAROUSEL. Afterward, one of our seniors chimed into the Zoom to say “Brava!”

As Michel sang “Someone Like You” one of our seniors closed his eyes and gently rocked to the power ballad. Another listener commented on her strong, emotionally charged vocals, and we couldn’t agree more! She, and all our volunteer artists, bring their entire heart to these sessions.
