From Session Leader Beth DeMichele: We had a fabulous Friday afternoon with SAGE and The Lenox Hill Neighborhood House Community members (and their adorable pets)!
I was joined by artists Zak, Kendyl and Ben, all of whom absolutely dazzled! Zak had us swooning with "On the Street Where You Live" and a tune from the musical "Yank" (a lesser-known show, but a favorite of one of our audience members who bonded with Zak over past and current productions).
Kendyl brought the house down with powerhouse favorites like "Unexpected Song" and "The Wizard and I" and Ben crooned delicious jazz tunes like "Fly Me To The Moon" and "What a Wonderful World" while PLAYING a real (and gorgeous sounding) piano.
The Zoom boxes were filled with folks singing along, swaying and even gracing us with some impromptu choreography from one of the SAGE couples.
Afterward, we swapped stories of our favorite "show must go on” moments and connected over our love for live theatre (whether we're performing or in the audience). There was such a feeling of warmth from start to finish, and these SAGE and Neighborhood House members have us counting the minutes until we can connect and sing with them again soon!
