Katie knew everyone could use a bit of optimism to start their day, so she opened the session with “Cockeyed Optimist.”
Amanda, Ron and Robin followed with a mini SOUTH PACIFIC section - “Honey Bun,” “Some Enchanted Evening” and “A Wonderful Guy.” SFYS artists know that classic tunes never go out of style!
Amanda’s rendition of “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” sparked a senior to share her story of Liza Minnelli singing in honor of her late mother. As the tears rolled down her face, everyone was reminded how a familiar song can open the door to a very special memory.
As Noah played the piano flawlessly, the other artists filled the session with pieces varying from Sondheim, Disney, musical theatre classics and even a few contemporary songs. As a beautiful close to the session, Robin led a sing-along of Carole King's “Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow.”
