About Session

From Session Leader Maggie Elizabeth May:

Monday, Sing For Your Seniors celebrated Mother’s Day with an audience filled with so many seniors and their families, honoring their loved ones.

Some musical highlights: Roanna started us out with a bang at Inspir with “Don’t Rain on my Parade.” As she left, an audience member called out, “Don’t go!” Caleb then sang a beautiful “It Only Takes A Moment” from “Hello, Dolly,” which received a shouted out, “That was my favorite song from that show. I just love it. He made me cry.”

Megan followed with an Inspir favorite, beautifully sharing “Somewhere Over the Rainbow.” Suzanne sang a fun “Always True To You in My Fashion.” It’s very special when Suzanne joins us at Inspir since she works part time at the facility. She knows the seniors so well, and it’s wonderful for them to see her shine!

Luke closed us out with not just the song “I Got Rhythm” but a tap dance to boot! A guest joining his mother at Inspir today said to me, “My mom and I used to take tap class together when I was a kid. I should have stuck with it!” Special thanks for our incredible accompanist, James Higgins, who amplified our session with his beautiful work on the keys.
