We were so grateful to be back at Inspīr on this dreary New York day. Our seniors were patiently waiting for us with huge smiles on their faces.
Meghan opened with a lovely “Rainbow Connection.” Someone called out while she was singing “This is wonderful!” Another senior sang along with Megan and kept a steady beat with her hands for the whole song.
Carlos brought a plethora of songbooks to choose from. Carlos actually lives very near Inspīr, so it was fun for him to finally meet his neighbors. He opened with “Listen to My Heart” and received a thunderous applause and a “Wow!” from the audience.
Jacquelyn sang “Happiness” from SCROOGE: THE MUSICAL. Our seniors love hearing personal stories from our singers, so she told us how she performed this musical every Christmas as a child at the local theatre in her hometown.
As a special holiday treat, Christopher, our accompanist, played a medley of seasonal songs. The residents were thrilled. We will be back to see our friends at Inspīr in the new year.
