It was so wonderful to be back at Encore in person. Our seniors were excited to gather together to share a meal and listen to some fabulous tunes.
Caleb, who is about to leave for the National Tour of “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas,” opened with a gorgeous rendition of “Old Devil Moon.” Taylor followed with a boisterous “Honey Bun.” Robin’s powerful voice carried through the room in “Journey to the Past.” Brooke sang “Great Balls of Fire,” which got some of the seniors to dance along in pure joy.
One sweet senior told me, “I know you guys. Tell Jackie I said hi!” She had seen us perform at the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, and was thrilled to hear us sing again today. She also said that Encore has not been this packed in a while. “They all came here today because of you!”
Over the past two years, we have missed these moments to connect with each other in person, and we can’t wait to be back at Encore in December!
