About Session

We were so happy to welcome The Bristal At York Avenue Assisted Living for their first Sing For Your Seniors session! Our audience also included seniors from SAGE and The Neighborhood House, making a wonderful community experience for us all.

Morgan started us off with “Cockeyed Optimist” from “South Pacific.” She told us that Nellie’s songs are in lower keys than most Rodgers and Hammerstein’s songs because Mary Martin (known for playing Peter Pan and the original Nellie on Broadway) had a lower voice and requested the keys to be changed to match her voice.

Robin came in with a great Dolly Parton impression and accompanied herself on the guitar singing a haunting “Jolene” followed by some Carole King to boot. Chris gave us a beautiful “Just The Way You Are” and a lovely “Can’t Help Falling In Love.”

The dynamic duo, Lianne and Luke (accompanying themselves on multiple instruments), gave us a mash-up of “You Can’t Hurry Love” and “You Better Shop Around” followed by “I’m a Believer” in addition to many of their famous “fun facts.”

Joyful comments were shared with our artists: “Y’all are cheering me up! Thanks soooo much!” “Thank you! This was SO uplifting! Much needed in these gloomy, doom times…,” “Thank you for another wonderful concert!"

We were so grateful to share an inspired afternoon of music and look forward to next time.
