About Session

Sing for Your Seniors brought ChamberQUEER to perform for the elders of The SAGE Center for a profoundly moving afternoon of music and community.

ChamberQUEER’s mission is making music in communities where everyone is welcome to show up as their authentic selves. That spirit was felt throughout the afternoon.

These world-class performers shared stunning cello pieces, soaring vocal arias and beloved Broadway favorites. Audience members kept streaming in throughout the performance, drawn by the beautiful music—we kept running out of chairs.

Shakers and maracas were passed around, turning “The Girl from Ipanema” into a joyful group percussion number that delighted everyone in the room.

Everyone rose together to sing “Over the Rainbow.” There wasn’t a dry eye in the house. Artists and elders alike stayed afterward to chat, leaving the session with a shared sense of joy.
