About Session

From Session Leader Napoleon Douglas: This afternoon was another wonderful session at the Neighborhood House. This audience is one us artists get excited about because they are so well versed with Broadway hits from all eras. These seniors aren’t afraid to join in on the fun, and today they didn’t disappoint!

Morgan delighted us with classics such as "Green Finch and Linnet Bird” and “Someone To Watch Over Me” that had the ladies in the room singing along. Rebbekah’s high notes rung during “I Could Have Danced All Night” and “If I Loved You,” both of which warmed the room.

Davon’s “I Who Have Nothing” and “Rain” captivated both audience and artists with his powerful sound. And Tyler, who made her SFYS debut today, touched all of us with “Spark of Creation” and “Somebody, Somewhere.” Welcome to the family!

The icing on the cake was the amazing Brett Teresa on the piano, who provided both excellent accompaniment and interlude music to liven the mood.

We finished the session on a high note as all artists and seniors alike sang, “Oh, What A Beautiful Mornin’” – quite fitting on a rainy Friday.

To the ladies in the front row who are seeing “Tina the Musical” tonight, have a blast. And to the rest of the Neighboorhood House, we will see you and sing with you again so soon!
