From SFYS Producing Artistic Director Jackie Vanderbeck: Today we welcomed JASA to our SFYS family with a joyful virtual session celebrating Golden Age musical theatre and jazz! Julia Johanos lifted our hearts with Rodgers and Hammerstein, Daniel Plimpton got us dancing in our chairs with Irving Berlin, Lianne inspired us to sing along to her rendition of “New York, New York”, and finally, Taylor Rey had us all swooning with some tunes popularized by the great Frank Sinatra, joined by the incredible Mark Klett on keys and guitar. Our hour-long session concluded with a tribute towards the New Year to come with “Happy Days/Get Happy.” It was wonderful to meet so many new audience members and see their delight with every song.
JASA provides life-changing support services, interventions and partnerships to promote aging with a purpose and autonomy for older adults to remain in their homes and communities. JASA operates ten affordable housing properties, is a licensed home care agency and offers a breadth of integrative services citywide.
