About Session

From Session Leader Napoleon Douglass: Spring showers came early today, but during our SFYS Encore Session, the clouds parted to show nothing but blue skies and sunshine.

Andrew charmed us with “Bigger is Better” from ”When Pigs Fly” as Davon swooned the ladies in the room with “When I First Saw You” from “Dreamgirls.”

Maggie stole our hearts with “Tomorrow” from “Annie” while Brett – who killed the keys as usual – graced us with wonderful accompaniment.

We had two new artists join the family today! Meggan gave us chills with her “How Deep is the Ocean” from “White Christmas” and Ryan blew us away with “December 1963” from “Forever Plaid.” Welcome to the family!

The highlight of the day was one of our seniors, Jeffrey, who took the mic and graced us with his beautiful voice. No surprise on the talent once we learned that he was in the first Broadway cast of “The King and I.” After we all sang, he sat us all down and told us his favorite stories from when he was on stage and beyond. As we left he wished us “A lot of love and glitter!”

Singing in the rain? I used to hate it, but this session today gave me a brand new perspective on the gesture. I think I will try it more often. Until next time, Encore!
