It was a packed room at the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America session!
Melanie shared how walking around the neighborhood brought back so many wonderful memories of being with her grandma and being there inspired her to sing “Happy Days Are Here Again,” which was met with wild applause. Tommy had everyone laughing with his great rendition of “I’m Coming Out of My Shell” from FROG AND TOAD, which he performed on tour. After Emily sang “Part of Your World” from THE LITTLE MERMAID, an audience member shared that she was reminded of her daughter playing the song on repeat, and it made her day to hear it again.
Melanie had love on the brain and gorgeously sang “Till There Was You” with a woman in the front row singing every word right along with her. Tommy’s beautiful voice captured everyone’s hearts during “If I Loved You.”
The entire room swayed as Noah played a couple of classical pieces on the keys, and he even shared some trivia about how Billy Joel’s song “This Night” uses the melody from one of Beethoven’s sonatas, “Pathétique” which he played. Tommy kept the Billy Joel theme, going with “She’s Got a Way,” and Melanie closed out the session with the toe tapping "I Got Love” from PURLIE.
The energy at Alzheimer’s Foundation of America was electric, and we cannot wait to go back.
